Jewellery fashioned from silver coinage of the day was an enduring tradition in the British Isles with pieces ranging from simple homemade examples to well designed and beautifully manufactured styles.

This bracelet is a lovely example of the latter, the silver 'thrup'nny bits" date through the 1930s and they are mounted in a custom silver setting hallmarked in 1941 by P & R Bushell, a manufacturing jeweller located in Regent St., Birmingham.

The six King George 5th and King George 6th silver threepenny coins are in top notch condition and look to be uncirculated, they date from 1931 to 1940. Perhaps someone carefully collected these coins over the years and then took them to Bushell's to have them set into a bracelet. We will never know! The bracelet fastens with a sturdy bolt ring that is in perfect working order.

A wonderful example of this charming jewelry style and given that this very vintage bracelet is over 60 years old the condition is incredible. Perfect for layering or wearing as a signature piece and collectible too!
