Iconic 1940s retro design is showcased in this 14K gold and black star sapphire ring by T.Y. Lee. T.Y. Lee was a jewelry designer in Hong Kong, their jewelry was high end, using only the finest gemstones.

A bold statement ring rendered in polished and textured gold the ring sits high on the finger with the sapphire cabochon claw set in an exotic stylised orchid mount with the band being straight and boxy.

The sapphire has a surface fracture at the back so it displays a cats eye appearance instead of a sharp star asterism and the ring is priced accordingly.

MATERIALS: 14K yellow gold.

GEMSTONE: Oval cabochon cut natural black star sapphire measuring 7.2x55mm, approx. 3/4ct.

RING SIZE: 5 (US) J-1/2 (UK) 49 (EU) with sizing available for an additional fee.

MEASUREMENTS: Face measures 11.7 by 7.2mm with the ring sitting 7mm high from the finger. The band measures 2.6mm wide.

WEIGHT: 2.8 grams

HALLMARKS: Stamped inside "LEE"S" with serial number "6280" and "14K"

DATE: 1940's

CONDITION: Apart from the damage to the stone this ring is in excellent condition and shows little sign of wear. The fracture is noticeable only under magnification and from the back. There is no crack to the front of the stone which is solid in the setting. A fabulous late Deco era ring in an iconic retro design that is perfectly wearable and deserves to be treasured again!
