Lots of age to this precious buttery 14ct gold & coral antique solitaire ring dating to the Victorian, possibly Georgian era. The ring features a slender flat band with geometric stepped column shoulders. The natural red coral cabochon is carved in the round with a slightly squat profile giving a charming apple appearance. It looks exquisite paired with a slim band and is perfect for stacking.

During the 18th and 19th centuries coral was thought to protect against evil forces with rings and bead necklaces being particular popular jewelry choices!

The ring has an old hallmark stamped inside near the front, which we are unable to make out because it has been partly covered up during the rings construction, it is lovely to see this old world craftsmanship! We have acid tested the gold and assess it to at least 14 carat.

The coral bead is pegged into the setting and is 7.2mm in diameter with the ring weighing 1.4 grams. It will fit finger size US 5-3/4/UK L/EU 51, sizing is available at an additional fee.

This ring is in very very good antique condition with minimal signs of wear and the coral still polished with a lovely shine. Please see photos.

At Mercy Madge we offer a distinctive and unique collection of antique and vintage jewelry. Each item in our shop is carefully hand selected by us, for you.
