A beautiful antique silver all original 'Albert' watch chain with an unusual sliding T-bar that is fully hallmarked for 1864 so a nice early piece.

Hailing from the Victorian era this is solid gauge chain with equal sized links. It is hallmarked on every link & component, always a sign of good quality and matching marks point to it being all original and complete. At 16-1/2" long the chain has a good drape for wear with a pocket watch and is perfect for wear as a versatile short necklace. Add a pendant or locket, wear alone or layered it has interest however worn.

MATERIALS: 925 sterling silver.

MEASUREMENTS: 16-1/2 inches long (42cm) end to end. The links are 9.5x6.5mm and 1.85mm thick. The T-bar is 38mm with a 28mm drop. The swivel clips are 30mm long (measured with jump rings) by 8mm.

HALLMARKS: Lion passant throughout chain & jump rings. T-bar stamped lion passant, date letter 'P' for 1864 and makers mark 'AS' with anchor for Birmingham and 'P' on the slider ring '. Clip ends stamped lion passant, date letter 'P' and 'AS' makers marks.

WEIGHT: 34 grams

DATE: Victorian 1860's

CONDITION: Fine antique condition with the clips in perfect working order and the T-bar sliding freely - a gorgeous steely grey antique patina to the silver. These watch chains are rarely found in such original and unadulterated condition!
