A beautiful pair of sterling silver Arts & Crafts earrings in a classic Art Nouveau style dating to the mid-century or perhaps earlier. A hook style, for pierced ears they depict stylised dogwood flowers in a lovely repousse design with a shadowed background. The flower elements are anchored onto silver rings on the reverse side resulting in a sturdy gauge drop that's durable and will withstand plenty of wear.
Each earring measures 1-1/2" (3.5cm) tall with the round flower motifs 5/8" (2cm) in diameter 5.7 cms and they weigh 4.6 grams in total. They are stamped '925' on both hooks and one earring is stamped 'sterling' on the back of the flower.
In lovely vintage condition, with just minimal light wear, the hooks are replacements, they would have had screw backs originally.
