A delightful figural Victorian silver novelty pendant in pencil form. Fully hallmarked for 1898 the sides of this mechanical pencil are engraved in a feathered pattern with a floral embossed finial at the top that is set with a foiled paste (glass) citrine seal. Worn by a Victorian lady on a necklace or a long guard chain these novelty fobs were as decorative as they were practical.

The silver band on the pencil that slides up and down expose the lead is missing the tiny peg so it won't operate as a mechanical pencil anymore, this is purely a decorative and rather unique pendant. The pencil has a little collar on the top with a jump ring to attach to a chain. A wonderful unique gift for a writer friend, a graduation and looks perfect when layered with other antique pendants!

We have added a new heavy duty sterling silver 24" (61cm) long chain for immediate wear. Our chains are made in Italy, with elegant oval links and sturdy bolt rings clasps they fully hallmarked and super quality. The silver is oxidised to give an aged finish which is perfect for wear with our antique pendants.
