Circa 1780, an exquisite antique Georgian diamond and pearl pansy pendant necklace hailing from the Regency period.
The necklace showcases extremely rare Mississippi river antique pearls that are natural and uncultured. There are 6 graduated dog tooth pearls on the pendant set with 6 old mine and table cut diamonds. The rest of necklace is composed of a strand of 45 antique river pearls that are baroque shaped.
The diamonds are flush set into the flower shaped silver pendant with the dog tooth pearls pegged into pinch bales. A single gold bead accents the top. All the pearls are incredible, completely natural and a lustrous creamy shade of ivory. The necklace strand looks to have been restrung at some point during its long life and it fastens with a small sterling silver bolt ring clasp . The silk stringing is hand knotted in between each pearl and shows no sign of perishing.
A rare jewel from the Georgian Regency era, heirloom worthy this is a once in a lifetime find and bound to bring endless joy to the new owner!
