A large size George 5th silver florin coin showcases in this fabulous vintage sterling silver pendant necklace that is hallmarked for 1976. The "florin" had a value of 2 shillings and was commonly known in Britain as a 'two bob'
The 1935 minted coin is composed of of .500 fine silver (500 parts silver per 1000) and it features Bertram MacKennal's portrait of George on the front and a 4 shield and 4 sceptre design on the back. The coin is set into a sterling silver scroll pendant mount and suspends from a sterling curb chain that has a wonderful oxidised (antiqued) finish that adds to the vintage appeal of this fantastic statement piece.
This pendant necklace is in beautiful condition with all the detailing on the coin still very crisp. HALLMARKS: pendant mount stamped on the side 'lion passant' for sterling, 'anchor' for Birmingham, date letter 'B' for 1976, makers mark 'WJP' also stamped 'SILVER'. The chain is stamped '925'
