What a beauty and a statement piece, this hand painted porcelain brooch dates from the Victorian era.

The porcelain oval is decorated with pink, red and yellow roses with green leaves on a misty blue and yellow background with a black border and white "moriage" dots that give it a 3-dimensional effect and lots of depth.

This is a monumental size and heavy, one of the largest Victorian brooches we had ever had. Measures 2-5/8" by 2-1/8". Has a brass mount with an early C clasp and T hinge. Circa 1890, condition is excellent antique with aged patina to the brass. Fastens securely, the weight of the brooch pulls the pin snugly into the C clasp when worn.
