Incredible vintage 9ct gold brutalist statement ring crafted on a grand scale and hallmarked for Birmingham 1973.
The substantial mount is rendered in solid heavy gauge rose/red carved gold giving lots of texture and dimension. The design continues around the back with a patterned band.
The ring showcases a beautifully carved semi translucent carnelian intaglio of a Trojan/Greek head. The intaglio is very fine quality so it is possible that this is an antique intaglio that was remounted in the 1970s. It is faintly signed on the back by the artist but we are unable to read the signature.
