What an exciting find! This 17th century solid silver intaglio seal fob is engraved on the base in beautiful Tudor style roses growing out of a heart and the owners initials "C W". The handle is crafted in a "chessman" design and looks like an adorable little chess piece. Absolutely gorgeous.
Very small and dainty it is obviously a seal for made especially for the ladies and utterly charming. Perhaps "CW" used it to seal her love letters and to this day the intaglio still turns out a beautifully well defined impression! This pretty piece suspends from a fine silver trace chain so she's ready to wear or give as a romantic gift.
Steeped in history to explore, we have no doubt this wonderful fob held special meaning to someone, you will treasure her forever!
