This huge authentic American silver dollar coin is dated 1891 and it is set into a super quality sterling silver filigree pendant mount. These antique silver dollar coins are over 1-1/2" in diameter and contain 90% pure silver (sterling is 92.5% silver) so they make for a fantastic piece of statement jewellery!
Known as a Morgan dollar, after the engraver George Morgan, the front of the coin features a striking image of Lady Liberty while the reverse depicts an eagle with wings outstretched clasping arrows and an olive branch. An 'O' mint mark appears on the reverse telling us the coin was minted in New Orleans.
The silver filigree mount is beautifully decorative and frames this impressive antique silver dollar to perfection. The pendant suspends from a fantastic heavy duty sterling silver Belcher chain that is stamped with full British hallmarks for 1975.
This silver dollar pendant necklace is wonderful condition, minimal surface wear with the detailing still and beautifully polished it is ready to wear right out of the box. Silver coin jewellery is so fabulously retro and this piece rings all the bells, wear it as a unique signature piece or or layer to perfection, just gorgeous!

HALLMARKS: none on the mount, we have acid tested and confirmed sterling. Chain stamped 'sterling' on clasp and 'lion passant' for sterling. 'anchor' for Birmingham, date letter 'A' for 1975 and makers mark 'WJS' on the end jump ring
