A beautiful antique Edwardian solid 9-carat rose gold picture locket pendant that is fully hallmarked for Chester 1915.
Crafted in an elegant oval shape the gold frame has a decorative crown shaped bale that screws off to access the two pictures inside. The glass covers are nice and thick with lipped edges so they are raised higher that the frame which adds substance to the locket. There are 2 pictures inside. a sepia photo of a well-dressed young lady who looks like she is wearing a large floral corsage and a print of a blue flower. This locket can be enjoyed as it is or you could replace the pictures with your own.
A beautiful antique picture locket full of old world grace and charm. As an added treat gold jewellery hallmarked in Chester is particularly sought after, the assay office closed in 1962 resulting in these historically hallmarked pieces becoming particularly collectible.
We have added a complimentary rose gold vermeil (gold plated sterling silver) Belcher chain so this lovely piece is ready to wear right out of the box.

MEASUREMENTS: Locket, 1-3/4 (4.5cm) tall, 1-1/8" (3cm) wide, 9mm deep. The visible part of the photo is 1"x5/8". Chain 16" (40cm)

DATE: Edwardian, dated 1915
WEIGHT: Total weight 11 grams (locket 8.4 grams, chain 2.6 grams)
CONDITION: The locket is in very good antique condition, there is some surface wear like tiny dents and scratches as you would expect of any used antique item. The glass covers are free of cracks and chips and the pictures inside are still nice and clear. The screw mechanism at the top aligns properly and it fastens tightly to keep the contents safe. Please see the photos and excuse any discoloured areas, the gold is highly reflective so it is very difficult take photos of it without casting shadows.
