A wonderful and fairly large sized antique sterling silver open work lapel pin in a classic Art Nouveau swallow or dove design that embodies the beauty of nature and the sentiment of jewellery.
Lovely quality the pin is embossed in beautiful realistic detailing with the love bird in flight holding a ruffled ribbon bedecked in flowers. It has a sturdy gauge sterling silver pin stem and what looks to be the original sterling silver pin protector that has a little rubber stopper inside.
A classic piece of antique sweetheart jewellery, the swallow which mates for life, speaks of eternity, loyalty, fidelity and the dove of faith and hope.
