A quirky antique 1906 armorial ensign fob which bears the coat of arms for the town of Chorley and its original historic motto "BEWARE". Chorley, a town in Lancashire England, has long since changed its motto to "Be Aware" because the original was deemed to be rather unwelcoming!
One side of the hallmarked sterling silver fob is decorated in the towns shield crest and the other side tells us it was awarded by the Chorley Education Committee for full attendance at school between 1903 and 1906. Once worn on a watch chain this wonderful piece is now a unique pendant that you can wear daily and adore!
A fab silver fob Harry Potter à la mode, we can't help imagine that a medal just like this could have been awarded at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!

CONDITION: in very good antique condition with signs of use and wear, there are shallow surface scratches and a few dings here and there as you might expect in a treasured award but we think they just add to the antique charm of this special piece!
