Circa 1910, a very pretty antique rolled gold cross pendant necklace decorated on the front in a lovely Acanthus pattern. A gold filled cable chain with an old style tube clasp completes this very sweet piece of antique devotional jewellery.

First patented in England in 1814 rolled gold (gold filled) is made by mechanically bonding a layer of solid gold over a base metal. Particularly popular for jewellery made during the Victorian and Edwardian eras it is a high quality finish. Rolled gold by weight is a 1/5th solid gold.
