An exquisite and fairly rare antique 18ct rolled gold Albert pocket watch chain complete with 2 dog clips, T-bar and a fob charm.
Super quality this is a solid chain and elegantly proportioned so it is bound to be an "Albertina", the ladies version of the "Albert" pocket watch chain. It is stamped '18ct Rolled Gold' on the T-bar and all parts look to be original to the piece. The chain benefits from 2 dog-cips, one at each end, and the centre drop is accented in a charming scarab beetle carved out of a tigers eye gemstone.
Antique "rolled gold" was made by mechanically bonding a thick layer of solid gold over a base metal (often silver). Rolled gold is actually 100x thicker than gold plating and it results in a very high quality finish that is durable and saturated in colour. It looks and feels like solid gold jewellery but it won't break the bank!
This gorgeous Albertina chain it is the ideal length for you to wear as a short necklace or you can double it around the wrist to wear it as a bracelet.
In outstanding antique condition, minimal surface wear and no tarnish. The gold is a bright buttery luxurious shade of yellow with no wearing away of the substantial gold overlay.
