A very pretty pair of dainty antique English 9ct gold stud earrings star-set with little mine cut diamonds. This exquisite bright cut "guiding star" gemstone setting is a firm favourite in Victorian jewellery!
These earrings, far from being mass produced, are hand-crafted in a charming floral design out of bright buttery yellow gold. For pierced ears, the posts are soldered to the top of the earring so you can turn and position them to suit the size and shape of your individual earlobe. The posts are stamped with full sets of English hallmarks which we are unable to read due to their teeny tiny size. The earrings have generously sized 9ct gold butterfly backs that fit snugly and securely.
A very sweet and feminine pair of classic Victorian earrings that would grace any antique jewellery collection and they are practical enough for daily wear!
MATERIALS: 9ct gold, 2 mine cut diamonds (Presidium tested and confirmed)
MEASUREMENTS: the earring face measures 3/8" (10mm) diameter, the posts are 10mm long. The diamonds measure 1.5mm diameter (approx. 0.10ct each). Total weight of both earrings is 2 grams
HALLMARKS: hallmarked for 9ct gold on both posts, butterfly backs stamped '375'
ERA: Victorian, circa 1880.
