An absolute showstopper this striking 18ct gold diamond ring is hallmarked for 1971 and is iconic of that glamorous era of jet-setting and cocktail parties.
There is a lot of real estate in this ring and it provides marvellous finger coverage. The ring is white gold at the front with a yellow gold band. The 0.25ct diamond is set in a white gold star and it stands in a tall caged 8-petal buttercup setting. The sides of the ring are decorated in beautiful oval petals studded in white gold milligrain beads that add even more to the lovely overall sparkle. The bright white gold star setting illuminates the beautiful diamond alluding to a much larger size than its measurements would suggest and a thick yellow gold band completes this substantial ring.
Not for the faint of finger this is a showy diamond solitaire on a grand scale. If you love retro cocktail jewellery this may be the one for you, fantastic for wear as an impressive vintage engagement ring too!

HALLMARKS: stamped 'Crown' & '18' for 18ct gold, 'leopard head' for London, date letter 'q' for 1971 and an unclear makers mark 'AJ' (?). Also hand etched 'BRR 3078'

CONDITION: this 1970s 18ct gold and diamond ring remains in very very good condition with light surface wear as to be expected in a vintage ring. The band hasn't worn thin and the diamond is securely set. Please excuse any yellow cast seen in the images and video, the white gold is mirror-like and picks up reflected colours.
