A fantastic quality vintage 1960s sterling silver "Mad Money" filigree box charm that opens to reveal a genuine old £1 note inside. In the days when a pound note was legal tender we wonder how many of these were actually opened and the money spent, a pound would have bought you quite a few cocktails on a night out... tempting!
The front of the money box is hinged with the tightly folded £1 note sitting behind a protective perspex cover. On the back the words 'Mad Money' have been pierced in the silver. Lovely to find this original mad money box from the 1960's and we haven't opened it preferring to keep it in all original condition!
It is in excellent vintage condition with minimal wear, this piece has been professionally cleaned and polished so its ready to wear or give as a gift. It can be purchased with or without a new Italian hallmarked sterling silver chain which is adjustable between 16 - 18" (40 - 45cm). If you want to use your own chain the charm has a large jump ring that will happily attach to most chains.
