A fabulous vintage 1970s heavy gauge sterling silver modernist necklace made in Taxco, Mexico. Very high quality, along with the Mexican marks it is stamped '925' on most of the triangular links and is also stamped with British import stamps for the year 1973. Extensive hallmarking is always a sign of quality. this is likely a piece originally retailed in a high end store.
Choker/collar length at 16" (40.5cm) it features pyramid shaped links of solid silver joined in oval connecting rings. Superbly made it has a hidden clasp that is also pyramid shaped so the design is uninterrupted. Heavy for size this necklace is weighty and it drapes perfectly around the the neck,
We get a real Scandinavian vibe from this piece, its sleek, modern and classy, a gorgeous statement necklace!

HALLMARKS: stamped on the end link '925', 'Mexico', 'eagle mark 3' and 'LTP' makers mark. Stamped on the next link 'Leo' zodiac import stamp for London, '925', date letter 'S' for 1973 and sponsors mark 'AJ' in a shield. Also stamped '925' throughout the links and clasp.
