Steeped in old world charm this big bold and beautiful 9ct gold opal and diamond 'boat' ring bears English hallmarks for 1971.
Inspired by Edwardian design the face of ring is set with 3 large opals accented by 6 little round sparkling diamonds all held in place by a multitude of curvy decorative claws. The opals possess a very pretty play of colour: pastel pink, blue and green with the flashes of fire red. An impressively large ring that provides marvelous finger coverage the front is gently curved with sloping shoulders that lead to a thick wide gold band and the gemstones stretch across the entire front of the finger from side to side.

MATERIALS: 9ct yellow gold
GEMSTONES: 3 opals, centre stone 1 carat, side stones 0.75 carat (tcw 2.50ct). 6 round brilliant cut diamonds 0.05ct each (tcw approx. 1/3ct). The stones have been tested and verified using a Presidium Gemstone Tester.
WEIGHT: 4.4 grams
MEASUREMENTS: the front (gemstone spread) measures 20mm across, 9mm top to bottom. The profile stands 5mm from the finger. Width of band 4.5mm
HALLMARKS: stamped '9/375' for 9ct gold, 'anchor' for Birmingham, date letter 'W' for 1971 and 'KR' makers mark
SIZE: UK N US 6-1/4 with sizing available for an additional fee
DATE: 1970s, mid-century.
CONDITION: In very good condition with a little light wear as to be expected in a vintage ring. The gemstones are free of chips and scratches and are secure in their settings. This ring has been professionally cleaned and polished so it's ready to wear or to give as a gift.
