This stunning modern cameo pendant is made by Del Gatto, a family run company of Italian jewellers that has been creating cameos since 1845.
Crafted in luxurious 18ct gold the large laser cut natural blue agate cameo is an absolute beauty depicting an Art Nouveau style lady holding a rose. Exquisite use of the natural shading in the blue gemstone with the lady in bright white, a pale baby blue background and a vivid periwinkle blue for the sky in the distance.
The cameo is enclosed in an elegant buttery yellow gold frame with a scalloped border and a generously sized hinged loop bale at the top.
The cameo carving is in beautiful condition free of flaws or any damage. The gold setting shows light surface wear. Under magnification we did note a tiny area of gold loss around one side of the tubing that forms the hinged bale. The gap has been discreetly repaired with jewellers epoxy and should not cause a problem. We have priced this piece with this minor flaw in mind, if you are at all worried about the integrity of the bale the tube can be easily strengthened or replaced by your local jeweller.
We have added a new Italian gold vermeil (gold plated sterling silver) mini Belcher chain for immediate wear so this gorgeous cameo necklace is ready to wear right out of the box.
