This beautiful vintage St Magnus sterling silver brooch is an Olga Gorie piece and is hallmarked for Edinburgh 1971.
The medieval cross design is based on the architecture at St. Magnus the Martyr Cathedral founded in 1137 on Orkney, an island off the north coast of Scotland. Ola Gorie is considered one of Britain's most important jewellery designers of recent times. A pioneer in the 1960s, her designs are inspired by her Celtic and Norse heritage.
