An early and very collectible Scottish silver annular ring brooch by Robert Allison. The brooch is also stamped with assay marks for Glasgow 1946. The assay office in Glasgow closed in 1964 resulting in these historic hallmarks becoming particularly sought after.
Crafted in heavy gauge sterling silver in a traditional ring design this is quite a large brooch and it is decorated in raised ancient Celtic symbols & knots against a black acid etched background. We particularly love the viking ship and mythological beast motifs! The brooch benefits from an extra long pin stem and heavy duty c-clasp so will attach to heavy fabrics with ease.
Just a couple of decades away from being a true 100 year old antique and steeped in ancient history this quality Scottish silver Celtic brooch is good for the gents or the ladies, and highly collectible too!
