A beautiful vintage sterling silver Art Nouveau revival locket stamped with a romantic portrait on the front and back of a classical Greek maiden.
The locket is a fairly large size and it opens from the side to reveal 2 stations with fixed picture rings, photos are simply tucked underneath to anchor them in place. It has a lovely fluted fan shaped bale on the top adding a nice decorative touch and it suspends from an elegant box chain. The chain and locket have a darkened oxidised finish which adds to the lovely antiqued effect. The locket is stamped with British 1994 hallmarks for Sheffield.

MATERIALS: sterling silver throughout
MEASUREMENTS: the locket is 2" (5cm) including the bale, the size of the locket itself is 1-1/2" x 1-1/8" (4cmx3cm). The chain is 17-1/2" (45cm)
WEIGHT: 13.2 grams total
HALLMARKS: locket stamped with a 'Libra' symbol (import stamp for Sheffield), '925', date letter 'U' for 1994 and makers mark 'MH'. Chain stamped '925'
CONDITION: in very good vintage condition with minimal wear, the locket closes securely with a firm click
