A fabulous antique sterling silver Albert pocket watch chain with chunky oval double links complete with a dog-clip, T-bar and beautiful Maltese silver cross fob hallmarked for 1889. This classic piece of Victorian kit is long enough to be wrapped around the wrist twice so you can wear it as a bracelet as well.
Known as a Belcher chain it has broad d-shaped links and there are smaller concentric links inside the outer links that help keep the links fitted together and prevents wearing away of the silver on the outer links. This double walled construction is a sign of quality in an antique chain.
Wonderfully tactile this chain has taken on a gorgeous patina over the past 150+ years, giving it a smooth almost snake-like feel as you move it around in your hand. The delightful "cross pattée" fob adds a heraldic touch with four 'Lion of England' passants accenting the arms of the cross and a round convex cartouche in the centre so you could choose to have it engraved for a personal touch.
An essential addition to any antique jewellery collection this impressive Victorian Albert chain is a classic of the era whether worn attached to a pocket watch or wrapped round the wrist, it is destined to become a firm favourite however worn!

CONDITION: this chain remains in very good antique condition there is light surface wear and surface scratches as you might expect given age and use, the clip is in good working order holding securely.
