This ravishing vintage 1930's Art Deco platinum & white gold ring boasts an exquisite 2-1/2ct colourless Zircon that is bright white and displays an incredible fire and brilliance that rivals the finest diamond!
The exquisite natural gemstone is full of fire flashing vivid hues of blue, green and pink. It nestles in an regal coronet setting gripped tightly in 6 double claws. The tall gemstone setting is crafted in platinum with the elegant knife edge shoulders and sturdy D-shaped comfort band rendered in white 9ct gold.

Not to be confused with the modern lab created 'Cubic Zirconia' the Zircon is an important earth-mined gemstone prized since ancient times because of its incredible sparkle. Colourless zircon is known for its brilliance and flashes of multicoloured light, called fire. These zircon properties are close enough to the properties of diamond to account for centuries of confusion between the two gemstones. These gorgeous gemstones have long since been a popular diamond substitute and were used frequently in antique jewellery, although interestingly enough the zircon is rarer than the diamond!
