This sweetly sentimental Victorian gilt (gold plated sterling silver) locket is embossed and engraved on both sides in a beautiful laurel wreath pattern.
Laurel wreaths symbolise eternity and this locket opens to reveal a deeper recess in one side to accommodate hair, the other side is less deep and has a picture ring to safely hold a photo inside.
A classic memorial locket of the era it is the perfect medium size for everyday wear. It opens from the side to reveal 2 black satin liners inside ready to insert your photos or other precious keepsakes. The locket has a large heavy duty bale at the top so it will happily attach to a wide variety of chains.
The locket is in very good condition antique condition with expected surface wear and light tarnish, it shuts tightly with a satisfying snap and it has a good strong hinge.
We have added a new gold plated sterling silver chain so this lovely Victorian sentimental locket is ready to wear right out of the box.
