A well designed top quality British Arts & Crafts silver buckle made by Grey & Co., Oxford St. London in 1906.
The buckle is a fairly large size and a fab example of the "simplicity, utility, and beauty" characteristics seen in period Arts & Crafts jewellery and accessories. Solidly constructed it is gently curved to fit flat to the waist and it has hinged double prongs in the center to attach to a sash or fabric belt. All the components of the buckle are hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling which is always a sign of quality.
