A beautiful antique Scottish retailers ring box from Saul Bercott Ltd., Diamond Merchants, 56 & 57 Argyle Arcade, Glasgow City. Argyle Arcade was, and still is, widely regarded as the diamond jewellery centre of Scotland.
Circa 1910 and lovely quality, the box is made of wood and covered in dark blue leather with gold tooling. It has a domed lid and a push button closure that is in perfect working order. The beautifully clean interior is lined in cream silk with the ring slot in black velvet. The box measures 1-5/8"/4cm square and 1-1/4"/3.2cm tall. In very good antique condition with age appropriate surface wear and discolouration primarily to the outside. Please refer to the photos as they form a good part of the description.
