This beautiful antique miniature watercolour painting depicts a tranquil woodland scene and is signed by the artist. It is mounted in a French gilt frame fitted with a hinged hanging loop and a gently curved glass cover, designed to subtly magnify and enhance the charming hand-painted details. The painting is tiny, the size of a postage stamp!
The miniature resides in its original blue leather double-door cabinet case, complete with a rear stand, allowing it to be displayed as an easel piece when open. Both protective and decorative, this presentation adds significantly to the piece’s appeal and collectability.
The frame is stamped “Moseley – England.” Moseley, or Moseley Ware, was the trade name used by Messrs Matthias Watts, a British art dealer and framer known for producing high-quality photograph frames, jewellers’ display rims, miniature frames, and miniature cases during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
A unique and highly collectible example of miniature art, beautifully preserved and presented.

DATE: Edwardian, circa 1910
CONDITION: in very good antique condition showing signs of age like patina on the brass frame and fading to the silk lined case. The painting is still vibrant and damage free. Note any white spots/streaks are reflections
