A magnificent pair of Georgian period Mughal earrings carpeted in slices of natural rough mine cut diamonds. Hand-crafted in an incredibly ornate long pendeloque drop style, the earrings are rugged and organic with raw antique beauty.
The long drops test as low carat gold (around 8ct) while the the large shepherd hooks at the top of the drops are 18ct gold and hallmarked. The hooks are later replacements. The gemstones have been tested and verified as genuine earth mined diamonds.
Treasured and preserved for a very long time the earrings remain in very good antique condition with expected light surface wear and other signs of age like tarnish in the crevices. The diamonds are very rugged with rough edges and small fissures in places. We believe that originally there was another 3 tiny accent drops at the bottom of each earring but their absence isn't particularly noticeable due to the intricacy of the metal work.
