An all round exquisite example of Georgian workmanship with every inch chased and engraved in a beautiful floral pattern this antique sterling silver toothpick is in the form of a trumpet or horn and has a misty white moonstone seal set into the finial.
A fine collectors piece it remains in very good antique condition with only light surface wear and tarnish in the hard to reach places. A sliding collar in the centre moves forward to reveal the toothpick inside. There is a tiny tear in the top open channel caused by moving the pick to and fro over the centuries, it is only visible under close scrutiny and doesn't affect its use.
Perfectly practical and beautiful for displaying this little 'objet de vertu' would have been a symbol of status in its day, the must have grooming accessory for the fashionable ladies and gents of the Georgian era!
