This exquisite Swallow pendant started life as a Victorian sweetheart brooch and has been expertly converted into a gorgeous antique pendant that you can wear and adore.
Superbly modelled in sterling silver the pendant is set with sparkling white paste gemstones and if you look closely you can see that this soaring love bird has a ruby red paste eye. The pendant has an integrated bale at the back of his wing at the top, and he suspends from a vintage 21" sterling silver fine Belcher chain.
Bursting with Victorian sentiment this beautiful antique Swallow pendant is a classic love token, utterly charming and perfect for adding a little romance to your layering. It would also make a thoughtful anniversary gift or perhaps something old for the modern day bride to wear on her wedding day too!
Swallows mate for life and they are a beloved motif in antique jewellery speaking of eternity, loyalty and fidelity. Jewellery featuring swallows was given to young couples or exchanged between them on their wedding day and it was worn by both women and men.
