Full of character in a hard to find style this antique sterling silver 'fob chain' comes complete with a "Prince of Wales Feathers" breloque. A breloque is a small ornamental charm or trinket that attaches to a watch chain.
Superb quality crafted in thick sterling silver the chain features solid "brick" style articulated links. To wear it the T-bar is inserted through a button-hole and the chain suspends on the front of the jacket or waistcoat with the breloque left hanging or tucked into the pocket.
The Prince of Wales Feathers which resembles a French fleur-de-lis is the heraldic badge of the Prince of Wales. It consists of three ostrich feathers encircled by a coronet and the German motto "Ich dien" (I serve). As well as being used in Royal heraldry, the feathers are sometimes used to symbolise Wales, particularly in Welsh rugby union and Welsh regiments of the British Army.
This feathers breloque is simply clipped on so it can be removed if you wanted to pair the chain with a pocket watch or another charm. An unusual and highly decorative antique silver accessory, a great way to connect yourself with elegant Edwardian fashion!

MEASUREMENTS: 7-1/2"/ 19cm top to bottom with the breloque attached. T-Bar 1-1/2"/3.6cm long. Breloque 1-1/4"/3cm x 3/4"/2cm. The chain is slightly too short to wear as a bracelet.
HALLMARKS: stamped 'SS' for sterling silver on the clip, worn 'sterling' mark on the T-bar. We have tested to confirm that it is sterling throughout

DATE: Victorian/Edwardian circa 1900
CONDITION: in very good condition showing just light surface wear and signs of age that you'd expect in an antique piece. The clip is in good working order fastening securely
