Beautifully detailed antique Victorian large teardrop shaped mourning pendant on a long thick sterling silver rope chain.
Molded from pressed horn which has been dyed black the pendant depicts a bust of Bacchante in high relief framed in a scalloped border. It is constructed in two separate pieces that are screwed together enhancing the dimensional effect. The top of the pendant has a large heavy duty silver bale and a long rope chain completes this wonderful antique necklace.
At 30 inches this is a fairly long necklace, it looks shorter on our model because we hitched the chain up a little to get a good shot in the photo.

MEASUREMENTS: Pendant 2-1/4" (55mm) high, 1-1/2" (40mm) and 18mm deep. Chain 30" (78cm) and 3mm wide

CONDITION: Very good antique condition with the pendant showing age but no real flaws, there are scuff and tool marks to the back but the front is in great shape given age. The chain is in very good condition, kink free with no missing links and the clasp is in perfect working order.
