Hallmarked in 1886 this charming antique Victorian sterling silver cuff bracelet is engraved in forget-me-nots and ferns on the front with the back left silky smooth.
An English classic the bracelet is narrow and crafted on the oval, it has a hinge at one side with a hidden shovel clasp at the other. It has rolled edges at the top and bottom which adds strength and durability.
To the Victorians ferns represented constancy and fidelity and forget-me-nots speak for themselves, these beautiful sentimentally engraved bracelets were often gifted to sweethearts and brides. Victorian jewelry is romantic and full of symbolism!
The bracelet is in very, very good condition with light surface wear and a little tarnish in the hard to reach areas as expected in an antique piece. The hinge is in good working order with the bangle closing securely.
