A beautiful bright white spinel gemstone of around 3/4 carats flanked by melee accent stones grace this gorgeous 18ct gold Art Deco period engagement ring.
Spinel is a fairly rare and durable gemstone that is nearly as hard as a sapphire or ruby. The name "Spinel" comes from the Greek word for spark and we can quite see why in this ring, these beautifully cut transparent gemstones rival a diamonds brilliance and fire!
The ring is crafted in two-tone 18ct gold, yellow gold for the band with the gemstones all set in white gold so as not to mar the colourless stones with a yellow cast. The principal spinel is claw set in a high crown mount with the lovely accent stones (2 at each side) bead set in sparkling white gold lines running around the shoulders. The spinel's have been tested and verified using a Presidium Gemstone Tester.
With its superb Art Deco styling this ring possesses an undeniable elegance, it would make a beautifully feminine engagement ring or could just become the literal star of your antique ring stack!
MATERIALS: 18ct white & yellow gold
GEMSTONES: 5 round brilliant cut spinels, centre stone 5.75mm diameter (approx 3/4 carat) accent spinels 3mm diameter , (approx 0.10ct each)
RING SIZE: UK-O/ US 7-1/4 with sizing available for an additional fee (please be aware that if you choose to have the ring re-sized it is considered a customised item and is non-returnable)
MEASUREMENTS: face 6.5mm top to bottom, shoulders 2.75mm, band 2mm
HALLMARKS: stamped '18ct' inside band
WEIGHT: 2.1 grams.
CONDITION: in good condition with wear in keeping with antique age. Slight surface scuffs noted around the facet edges of the principal stone visible under very close magnification but not visible to the naked eye.
