An exceptional 1930s Egyptian Revival sterling silver and lapis lazuli panel bracelet hailing from the Art deco era.
A quality piece crafted in heavy gauge silver and stamped with Egyptian hallmarks the bracelet features a row of 7 figural busts of Tutankhamun inlaid with tiles of royal blue lapis lazuli gemstones. The figures are finely modelled and beautifully detailed. They graduate gently in size from the centre to the ends and the bracelet fastens with shovel style push button clasp.
Made locally in Egypt, the bracelet is stamped with a Arabic characters and we have acid tested and verified that it is sterling silver.
In 1923, British archaeologist Howard Carter discovered the ancient tomb of Tutankhamun triggering a wave of Egyptomania that heavily influenced the Art Deco movement. As tourists flocked there to embrace this ancient culture Egyptian themed jewellery became madly fashionable worldwide.
This striking bracelet is a reminder of those heady times, a unique addition to antique jewellery collection!

CONDITION: in very, very good antique condition with just light surface wear and faint scratches commensurate with age and the clasp clicking securely shut.
