A beautiful and very collectible English silver Charles Horner wide silver belt bangle bearing full Chester hallmarks for 1944. It is a real treat to see silver from Chester, the assay office closed in 1962 and these historic hallmarks are desirable and attract a premium.
Just a couple of short decades away from being a true antique the bracelet is crafted on the oval. It is guilloche engraved in a classic Art Deco machine turned pattern. The adjustable belt design ensures this bracelet will fit most wrist sizes. It is a joy to still see the original 'belt loop' tab in place, not only is it an integral part of the original design, it also secures the bracelet and helps the end to stay flat when fastened. Sadly, all to often, the tab is missing.
MATERIALS: Sterling silver
MEASUREMENTS: The bracelet measures 7/8" wide (approx. 23mm) and has an inside circumference of 7-3/4" (approx. 20cm) adjusted to the largest size.
HALLMARKS: Stamped inside, 3 wheatsheaves for Chester, lion passant for sterling silver, date letter curlicue 'T' for 1944 and 'CH' for Charles Horner. Also stamped with the lion passant on the loop.
WEIGHT: 26 grams.
