This beautiful antique Victorian 9ct rose gold bar brooch is set with a guiding star and crescent moon motif in the centre that is carpeted in luscious deep red Bohemian garnets.
A fairly large size and super quality it is equally at home worn as a stock or cravat pin. Moon and star jewellery was hugely popular with the Victorians and Edwardians and was given as a token of love. The crescent moon, because it eventually turned full, represented the desire that a fledgling relationship would blossom into marriage and stars symbolised guidance and protection.
