This high quality and elaborate heavy gauge sterling silver antique Victorian "Albertina" pocket watch chain has all the bells and whistles and you can wear it as a bracelet, it even boasts an extra drop with a bolt (spring) ring for you to attach another charm, fob or other little ornament.
Etruscan Revival in style it features 5 rows of fancy chain in the centre flanked by 2 large oval ornately embossed charms that are followed by large silver balls and then triple rows of matching chains. There's a matching heart tassel charm at one end along with a T-bar and the bolt ring drop, the other end has a swivel dog-clip. The charms are solidly cast in silver so they are not hollow and flimsy.
This substantial Albertina is a generous length so she will fit up to a larger wrist size. A must-have piece for the antique jewellery collector, you will want to wear her forever!
This beautiful Albertina is the feminine version of the Victorian Albert watch chain. Albertina chains are much prettier with lots of decorative features and they were worn as jewellery rather than functional pieces.

MEASUREMENTS: measures 8-1/4 (21cm) from dog-clip to the T-bar junction (where you fasten it to wear as a bracelet). Total length is 11-1/2" (29cm) laid flat measured from the end of the dog-clip to the end of the tassel charm. Central oval charms 20x17mm, 7mm deep. Heart tassel drop 3" (8cm), heart charm 15x12mm, 6.8mm deep. Bolt ring drop 1-1/2" (8cm), bolt ring diameter 10mm. Swivel dog-clip 19.5x6.5mm. T-bar 28.5mm long.

DATE: circa 1880, Victorian
CONDITION: in extremely good condition with just light surface wear and a little tarnish as you might expect in an antique piece of jewellery. The bolt ring and swivel clip are in good order and fasten securely. There is a silver bead missing from the end of one of the chains on the heart tassel charm which isn't particularly noticeable.
