Victorian Sterling Silver & Gold Belt Buckle

Superb quality Maltese sterling silver antique buckle featuring cut out fretwork panels centered with the flag of Malta, Order of Saint John of Jerusalem. The buckle is gently curved and it features a hinged rocking twin fastener in the center that has prongs to tightly grasp fabric or fine soft leather. Condition is excellent with the fastener in perfect working order. Gorgeous steely grey antique patina to the silver the buckle is stamped on the back with a Maltese cross hallmark punch and it tests at 925 sterling silver. Measures 3" x 2" (75x50mm) Weighs 21.3 grams and will arrive in the black leather silk lined vintage box as shown.
