Fully hallmarked for the year 1900 this beautiful sterling silver mechanical pencil pendant is a fine collector's piece, and an all round exquisite example of Victorian craftsmanship.
With every inch intricately engraved and embossed in feminine floral detailing this miniature pencil might have been worn on a Victorian lady's chatelaine or guard chain but she is now a necklace pendant that you can adore and wear daily. Fully functioning, there is pencil lead inside, she is as pretty as she is practical!
The top of this lovely silver pencil is set with an amethyst seal stone and a sliding ring pushes up and down to retract the detachable silver nozzle that holds the pencil lead. A removable collar at the top has a silver jump ring ready to attach to your favourite necklace chain!

MEASUREMENTS: retracted the pencil measures 2-1/4" (5.5cm), open it measures 3" (7.5cm), the jump ring is 6mm diameter
HALLMARKS: stamped 'lion passant' for sterling, 'wheatsheaves & sword' for Chester, date letter 'R' for 1900 and makers mark 'FCB' for Frederick Charles Berkeley. Chester silver is particularly sought after, the assay office closed for good in 1962 resulting in Chester hallmarked silver becoming very collectible!

CONDITION: in very, very good condition with the engraved detailing still crisp and fresh. The silver nozzle at the end screws off to insert the pencil lead. Please note the chain is not included.
