This quality sterling silver mid-century locket opens to reveal its original black & white photos of a typical 1950s couple looking very dapper. The photos can be removed and replaced with your own if you wished, the original gold-plated silver picture rings are still present and the lady's photo is protected by a thick perspex cover.
Solidly constructed this is quite a large size locket with an elegant high polished mirror finish and a lovely pillowed profile. It has a heavy duty oval shaped bale at the top and suspends from a heavyweight short chunky Belcher chain that has classic oval links. The chain is a close fitting 16" so this locket is going to to be perfectly on show when worn with lots of different neckline styles.
Both the chain and locket are in tip top vintage condition, please disregard and distorted/discoloured spots and shadows, the locket is highly reflective and difficult to photograph. It has strong hinge and snaps tightly closed with a satisfying click. Chunky and hard wearing this great mid-century statement necklace is ready to wear right out of the box!
