This beautiful 1960s vintage 9ct yellow gold love heart locket is a larger than average size and nice and plump so it is perfect for tiny mementos as well as photos.
It is engraved on the front in a Art Nouveau inspired leaf & zig-zag design with a vacant diagonal cartouche running across the centre for personal engraving. The back is left smooth save for the gold marks. It opens from the side to reveal 2 stations for photos along with a removable picture frame in the back. The front has a deep rim so you can tuck a photo underneath to hold it in place.
If desired the locket can be purchased with the dainty Italian 9ct gold 16" fine curb chain as pictured. You can purchase the locket alone if you prefer, it has a 6mm diameter 9ct gold jump on the top that you can use to attach your own chain. The chain is stamped '375' on the clasp.
A gorgeous medium to large size love heart locket, a lovely quality piece. It is in very good condition with a little light wear and faint surface scratches, as to be expected from any vintage item and it closes securely with a very solid click.

HALLMARKS: stamped, '9ct - Bk & Ft' (English hallmarked "9ct back and front" lockets are typical of the era, essentially 90- 95% solid gold they may have inner rims made of a stronger metal).
