A super quality vintage 1940s gold vermeil Chinese good fortune symbol bracelet and earring set made by Wai Kee Jewellers. Wai Kee were founded in 1885 and are the oldest jewellers in Hong Kong.
Crafted in gold plated sterling silver the bracelet is made up of 8 Chinese character frames joined by links and it fastens with a hidden box clasp, it also has a safety chain adding to the decorative appeal. The earrings have matching character frames and post backs. It is such a rare occurance to find an original matching jewellery set still together after all these years!
We have been told these Chinese characters bestow good luck, long life and happiness so perhaps when you wear this jewellery the same fate will befall you!

HALLMARKS: bracelet stamped 'WAI KEE SILVER', '90 Q' , earrings stamped 'W.K' for Wai Kee, 'sterling' and 'HK' for Hong Kong. Tested and verified sterling throughout.

CONDITION: In excellent vintage condition with the minimal wearing away of the gold vermeil and the clasp in perfect working order
