An unusual vintage 1930s American retailer's pocket watch box printed "Parker, Fifth Avenue, New York. Timed by Western Union Naval Observatory Time" inside the lid. We are not sure if Parker is the name of a department store or a brand name of pocket watches.
Hailing from the Art Deco era the box is made of metal and covered in maroon velvet with printed red satin inside the lid. The watch pad has a tab on the front to hold the watch and a metal easel stand on the back. The box 3-3/4"/9.5cm by 3-1/4"/8cm and 1"/2.5cm deep.
In good pre-loved condition with surface wear, marks etc - acquired over the years. Please see the photos as they form a good part of the description and note the pocket watch shown is not included.
At Mercy Madge we offer quality antique and vintage jewellery sourced in Great Britain. Each piece is hand selected with you in mind and we rarely come across two identical old treasures, once they are gone, they are truly gone!
