A beautiful and classic vintage English sterling silver bangle bracelet bearing full hallmarks for 1959.
The bracelet is nice and wide and engraved on the front in fern flourishes, a pattern beloved by the Victorians and still treasured today. The fern represents sincerity and the ivy affectionate attachment so these charming sentimental bracelets made for popular gifts for sweethearts and brides.
Lovely quality in heavy gauge silver the bangle is crafted on the oval and has a hinge on one side and a hidden shovel clasp on the other. It has a D-profile and a decorative safety chain.
Condition is very good with wear commensurate with a 60+ year old age. There are a few dents in the silver where the safety chain is on the back side. which is fairly typical with these hollow bracelets, please see photos. It is perfectly polished (any dark marks are shadow and reflections), the engraving is still fresh and crisp, the hinge solid and the clasp works perfectly and holds securely.
